Speech and Hearing
Goodwill's Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic is designed to identify, evaluate and remediate communication disorders in children and adults. These disorders may include speech or language disorders due to a stroke or trauma, communication problems related to loss of hearing, stuttering, cleft palate, cerebral palsy, autism, attention deficit disorder or problems involving voice quality. A physician's referral is desirable.
This program, offered on a sliding-fee scale, involves testing, therapy and counseling services for children and adults with speech or language problems or hearing impairments.
Goodwill staff members are First Aid and CPR certified. Goodwill staff participate in a minimum of 10 hours of inservice training each year in areas including but not limited to diversity, working with individuals with disabilities, non-violent crisis intervention, bloodborne pathogens, workplace violence, drug-free workplace, and emergency drill procedures.
All professional staff members have been awarded a minimum of a Masters Degree from accredited universities, licensure from the State of Ohio and certificates of clinical competence in speech-language pathology or audiology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
