This program, offered mostly by referral, offers side-by-side training with a Job Coach at community-based job sites. The Job Coaches teach specific job skills and appropriate work behaviors for success on the job. Gradually, Job Coaches "fade" services until individuals are able to perform job tasks independently.

 

Goodwill staff members are First Aid and CPR certified. Goodwill staff participate in a minimum of 10 hours of inservice training each year in areas including but not limited to diversity, working with individuals with disabilities, non-violent crisis intervention, bloodborne pathogens, workplace violence, drug-free workplace, and emergency drill procedures.

 

Job Coaches must have a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Business or a vocationally oriented field: or a high school diploma, plus a minimum of two year experience training persons with disabilities at community-based job sites.
